The musical features music by Claude-Michel Schönberg and lyrics by Alain Boublil, premiering in Paris in 1980 and later opening in London's West End in 1985 before making its way to Broadway. The current touring production, known as Les Miserables – The Touring Production (North American Tour 2023–2025), showcases an updated staging while honoring the beloved original design elements.

This production will be gracing the stage at Teatro Nuevo Apolo in Madrid on October 16, 2026. The show has received outstanding reviews for its emotional power and updated visual design, with standing ovations reported nightly. The production's themes of redemption, sacrifice, and social justice resonate deeply with audiences, making it a must-see event.
